Most of us stick to the classic method of making ice — filling up an ice tray with water, freezing it and dropping those cubes into our drinks. But vlogger Junie has taken the ice to a whole new level. In her latest Instagram video, she showcases a dazzling array of ice cubes that look more like art than something you would find in a refrigerator. From ice shaped like delicate roses to vibrant fruit-infused ice cubes, her collection will leave you mesmerised. At first glance, you might not even recognise them as ice.
Junie’s viral Instagram video begins with the text, “When people ask me why I have 15+ different types of ice cubes.” From there, she takes us on a tour of her daily drink routine, each enhanced with creative ice creations. For her morning ginger tea which she claims improves her gut health and provides antioxidants, she swirls in sunny yellow heart-shaped cubes. Her water bottle gets the long, slender ice sticks, while block-shaped cubes make their way into her smoothies. Iced coffee, matcha latte and black sesame latte, each get their own special ice shapes like teddy bears, stars and cute penguins. When preparing a mocktail for herself, Junie opts for small round ice cubes, while fruit-infused ones are added to cocktails for a splash of flavour. She even keeps soup cubes handy for a quick and healthy meal and uses large round cubes to keep her sparkling water chilled. She also saves up some fun flower and animal-shaped cubes for different types of cocktails. And yes, she even has these cute star-shaped pupsicles for her dog.
“I really think that using different shapes and types of ice really elevates any drinking experience. They’re great for cocktails, coffee, water bottles, you name it. I also think that they don’t always have to be pretty and aesthetic, but there’s so many useful ice styles to make that are practical and help save time! It’s been a couple of years since I started doing this and I still love it!!” Junie wrote in the caption.
