This Bizarre Combination Of Fried Nutella Dish And Sabzi Is Confusing Foodies
It is unclear which food joint served this odd sweet and spicy combination.

A bizarre food video that shows a cook preparing a fried Nutella dish and serving it with a platter of various types of sabzi has caught the internet’s attention. The video starts with the cook putting a dollop of Nutella, a sweetened hazelnut cocoa spread, inside flour dough and wrapping it up like a dumpling. He then fries this Nutella pocket/dumpling. The cook then prepares a thali with an assortment of sabzis, curries, and spicy chutney and serves the fried Nutella dumpling with it instead of the usual roti or puri (Indian Breads). A food vlogging account named Bhookkad Beast posted this video on Instagram.

So far, it has gathered over 30,000 likes since it was posted on December 18. However, it is unclear which food joint served this odd combination.

Commenting on the video, an Instagram user wrote, “At first you will eat all the veggies and then you put this chocolate wrap in your mouth like a dessert?” Another quipped, “Aab isse healthy bolu ya unhealthy (Now, should I call it healthy or unhealthy).”

Referring to the “Thoda Casual Hai” meme, someone commented, “Dessert serve karne ka tarika thoda casual hain.” Expressing anger at this bizarre combination, a person remarked, “People who do like this. Have confirmed reservations in Hell.” A social media user referred to it as “Sasta croissant” while another described it as a “Croissant with Indian twist.”

This is not the first time that people have expressed confusion and distaste towards a dish that uncharacteristically includes Nutella.

In September 2023, an Instagram account Fingerlicking Tales shared a video that featured a young woman selling Nutella Cheese Pasta at Cept Khau Gali in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad. The young woman prepared a white sauce pasta and then served it with a spoonful of Nutella and grated cheese. This dish was priced at Rs 70 per serving.

In August, a popular food blogger shared a video in which she prepared instant Maggi noodles with hazelnut and cocoa spread and milk, instead of the usual tastemaker that comes with the Maggi.

She serves this dish by topping it with Cadbury Germs. However, when it came to tasting the dish, the vlogger had to spit the food after the first bite and gave it a thumbs down. Many people criticised the food vlogger for wasting food in a bid to get social media attention.

What's your reaction?
