McDonald’s, KFC and Diet Coke: How Donald Trump Binged His Way to the White House
A new book on Donald Trump's run for President gives out several other unusual episodes, including that then-press secretary Hope Hicks used a steamer to press Trump's pants while he was still wearing them.

United States President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and top aide David Bossie have detailed in new book what it was like to work with him when he was running for the top post.

“Let Trump Be Trump,” which will be released on Tuesday, mentions several anecdotes from the campaign. A lot of it revolve around ensuring that fast food reached the president-to-be on time, according to an advance copy of the book accessed by the Washington Post.

“The orchestrating and timing of Mr. Trump’s meals was as important as any other aspect of his march to the presidency,” the authors write, according to the Post.

The meals were of heroic proportions. A typical order from McDonald's consisted of "two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish and a chocolate malted." But it was not the only major food group on board Trump’s plane – KFC, pizzas and Diet Cokes made their presence felt too. Other junk food items like chips, pretzels and Oreos were almost always stocked.

The book also gives out several other unusual episodes, that then-press secretary Hope Hicks used a steamer to press Trump's pants while he was still wearing them.

On the whole, the two did not give a glowing account of their former boss. They said they "both had moments where they wanted to parachute off Trump Force One."

“Sooner or later, everybody who works for Donald Trump will see a side of him that makes you wonder why you took a job with him in the first place," they wrote in the book.

"His wrath is never intended as any personal offense, but sometimes it can be hard not to take it that way. The mode that he switches into when things aren't going his way can feel like an all-out assault; it'd break most hardened men and women into little pieces," Post quoted from the book.
