WWE co-founder Vincent McMahon is reportedly banned from entering the company’s headquarters and the gym he once helped design. McMahon was forced to retire from the WWE in 2022 amid reports of sexual misconduct. One of his friends and longtime employee Tom Carlucci recently gave an insight into the situation to the Insiders Podcast with Conrad Thompson. Carlucci revealed that the ex-chairman was not welcome at the company’s new headquarters. “He [Vincent McMahon] can’t even walk in the building…that’s crazy that you drive by that building [and] you got that big championship belt,” Carlucci said.
Known for being a fitness freak, Vincent McMahon was often found in the gym at the original WWE headquarters. This led to the WWE co-founder having a massive input in designing the gym for the new headquarters which he might never get to experience. Speaking further in the interview, Carlucci said, “The gym was created for Vince. He designed the gym with his trainer Mike, who I know very well. He can’t even go in that gym anymore”.
The WWE ex-employee explained how McMahon was prohibited from stepping foot in the new headquarters. “He can’t step foot anywhere. Every meeting that goes on over there – you’ll never see Vince here again, from the TKO people. It is crazy when you think about it that he’s the legacy,” he said.
Carlucci also talked about how it was McMahon’s dream to unite the two buildings to bring all WWE staff under a single roof. “We had the corporate off exit 9, and then we were right down the street from the corporate office. Our big production studio. He always wanted us under one roof. That was his dream to have us under one roof,” Carlucci said. By the time this dream came true, McMahon was no longer associated with the company.
McMahon has been at the centre of controversy in the last two years. He is currently facing a lawsuit from former WWE employee Janel Grant. The lawsuit accused the WWE co-founder of misusing his powers as the company’s chairman to abuse her sexually.
