The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has introduced bus ticket booking through WhatsApp, the instant messaging platform, across its network in the national capital.

For tech-savvy Delhiites, this marks the end of times when they had to wait after boarding the bus to get a ticket from conductor. The WhatsApp ticket booking facility allows people to book tickets conveniently from various locations such as homes, offices, malls, etc.

Currently, the chatbot allows commuters travelling on DTC and DIMTS routes to book single journey QR tickets. For riders commuting frequently on the same route, the chatbot will offer a quick purchase feature, further reducing the time spent selecting the destination and starting point in the chatbot.

Book DTC Bus Ticket Via WhatsApp

Commuters need to send ‘Hi’ to +918744073223 to access the service. For the convenience of commuters, the facility is available in both English and Hindi to book single journey QR tickets.

  1. Write ‘Hi’ On WhatsApp to 8744073223 or by scanning a QR code
  2. Select language: English Or Hindi
  3. Select “Book Ticket” from one of three options: Book Ticket, Download Ticket & Last Transactions
  4. Select “Source” & “Destination”
  5. Platform would suggest you buses (routes of buses) with number of stops before your destination
  6. Select the bus route
  7. Select AC or Non-ac bus
  8. Add number of tickets you want to book
  9. Pay via UPI or Cards
  10. Scroll up in the chat and click on ‘Download Ticket’

Please note that the ticket booked via WhatsApp will be valid till the time mentioned in the ticket.

Last year, WhatsApp partnered with Delhi Metro to expand the WhatsApp-based ticketing experience across all Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram Rapid metro routes.

Commuters can also book tickets via “One Delhi” mobile application, launched by the Delhi government in 2022, through scanning QR codes printed inside buses. However, WhatsApp ticket is booking is all Delhiites needed to travel seamlessly across DTC network in this age of artificial intelligence and innovation.
