In a move to attract a special target audience, Yamaha gearing up to launch a sports heritage model named XSR900GP. The company has already revealed the retro-style motorcycle at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, hinting that the motorcycle might hit the European market very soon.
The newly unveiled old-school model in a modern avatar pays special honor to the iconic Yamaha GP 500 bikes from the 1980s, which were used in the professional racing championship by known riders Eddie Lawson and Wayne Rainey.

It has been reported that the upcoming XSR900GP will come with a lot of modern updates in terms of mechanical. However, the bike will carry its old-school charm with some noticeable cosmetic changes.

It has been claimed by the brand that XSR900GP will come with a tweaked chassis, making it more stiff. Yamaha also reveals that in order to improve the controllability, the suspension at both ends also has been tuned, which will provide a smooth riding experience. The motorcycle will run on Bridgestone Batrax S23 tyres.

Despite having a retro style design and carrying old-school charm, the XSR900GP is filled with some of the modern trending features. The list includes advanced riding assists, a Type-C USB socket, a cruise control option, and a Bluetooth-enabled 5-inch color TFT screen, which will allow the rider to monitor important information.

The XSR900GP features a trusted 890cc, 3-cylinder DOHC engine, which generated a max power of 116 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 93 Nm peak torque at 7,000 rpm.
