Navagraha 2, might start from the climax scene of its prequel.

Kannada cinema’s revered actor, Darshan Thoogudeepa, lovingly addressed as the Challenging Star by his ardent followers, is renowned for his impactful performances in a plethora of mass action films. Over the years, he has showcased his acting prowess in various cinematic endeavours, such as Majestic, Namma Preethiya Ramu, and the milestone success Navagraha.

The film, which catapulted Darshan’s career to new heights, is now set to potentially have a sequel in the works, eliciting immense excitement among fans who have eagerly anticipated its return.

The 2008 blockbuster, Navagraha, commanded attention at the box office with its compelling storyline and captivating performances. It was, in fact, a Kannada remake of the iconic film Reservoir Dogs. The plot revolved around a gang embarking on a mission to steal the revered Ambari—a term signifying a royal and sacred object made of 750 kg of gold, exclusively used in the state festival Dasara, held in Karnataka.

Adding to the intrigue surrounding the sequel, a poster related to Navagraha 2 was unveiled by News 18 Kannada. The poster showcases eight actors clad in distinctive hats and oversized coats, hinting at the revival of the ‘Ambari’ theme. This revelation has ignited anticipation for what lies ahead in the film’s narrative.

Recent reports have hinted that Navagraha 2 may pick up from where its predecessor left off, potentially continuing the story. In the original Navagraha, Darshan’s character, Jaggu, appeared to meet a tragic fate, falling from a hill during the climax. However, the film concludes with a scene where Jaggu subtly opens his eyes, leaving room for speculation regarding his survival and paving the way for a sequel.

The prospect of Navagraha 2 has sparked considerable enthusiasm among both fans and industry experts, who foresee it setting a new trend in the Kannada film industry. The film’s music, particularly the song Kan Kanna Salige, remains a cherished favourite among audiences, with Sonu Nigam lending his melodious vocals to the track. Composed by V. Harikrishna and featuring lyrics by Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad, Navagraha originally hit the silver screens on November 6, 2008.
