Markets marginally high, Sensex up by over 80 points, Nifty rises over 10 points. The Sensex gained 84.57 points at 28547.88 and the Nifty rose 14.05 points to 8623.90.
Mumbai : Equity benchmarks fell on profit booking. The Sensex lost 43.19 points to 28420.12 and the Nifty dropped 6.40 points to 8603.45.
About 1547 shares have advanced, 1277 shares declined, and 146 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
UltraTechCement rallied 4.04 per cent after better than expected earnings in Q1 Asian Paints jumped 3.26 per cent ahead of Q1 numbers on Tuesday.
BPCL, Hindalco and Grasim rose 2-2.5 per cent. However, Tata Motors, SBI, Vedanta, BHEL, HUL, PNB, Bank of Baroda, ACC, Cairn India and Tata Power dropped 1-2 per cent.
