Even as the stock market witnessed a bull run this year touching record highs multiple times, the primary market also saw increased activity. In the year 2023, a total of 120 initial public offerings (IPOs) were launched, including 61 SME IPOs. This is higher than the 90 IPOs recorded in the previous year 2022.
During the year 2023, out of the 120 IPOs, 95 recorded listing gains while 24 posted loss on the listing date. One IPO is yet to be listed. Of the total IPOs, 102 are currently in gain with respect to their issue prices, while 17 are in loss as against their issue prices.
The top IPOs (including both mainboard and SME) in 2023 were the following, as per listing gains:
Goyal Salt: This IPO, which received over 267 times subscription, was listed on October 11. The IPO posted a 258.2 per cent listing gain.
Sungarner Energies: This IPO, which received over 138.2 times subscription, was listed on August 31. The IPO posted a 216.1 per cent listing gain.
Basilic Fly Studio: This IPO, which received 286.6 times subscription, was listed on September 11. The IPO posted a 193.3 per cent listing gain.
Trident Techlabs: This IPO, which received 502.6 times subscription, was listed on December 29. The IPO posted a 180.4 per cent listing gain.
Oriana Power: This IPO, which received 117.4 times subscription, was listed on August 11. The IPO posted a 168.7 per cent listing gain.
Anlon Technology Solutions: This IPO, which received 428.5 times subscription, was listed on January 23. The IPO posted a 163.7 per cent listing gain.
Tata Technologies: This IPO, which received 69.4 times subscription, was listed on November 30. The IPO posted a 162.6 per cent listing gain.
CPS Shapers: This IPO, which received 236.7 times subscription, was listed on September 7. The IPO posted a 155.4 per cent listing gain.
Srivari Spices and Foods: This IPO, which received 418.4 times subscription, was listed on August 18. The IPO posted a 153.7 per cent listing gain.
Infollion Research Services: This IPO, which received 259.1 times subscription, was listed on June 8. The IPO posted a 142.1 per cent listing gain.
Among mainboard IPOs only, the top listings were of Tata Technologies (162.6 per cent), IdeaForge Technologies (92.7 per cent), Utkarsh Small Finance Bank (92 per cent), Motisons Jewellers (88.3 per cent) and IREDA (87.5 per cent).
