Chennai Police Refuse Security For Outdoor Trailer Launch Of Leo At Rohini Silver Screens
A senior police officer from Chennai explained that they couldn't provide security for such a huge crowd.

The much-anticipated trailer launch event for Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film “Leo” has hit a roadblock as the Koyambedu police have denied permission for the outdoor event. Fans of the superstar had been eagerly awaiting the trailer release, scheduled for Thursday, October 5. However, the outdoor event at the car parking area of Rohini Silver Screens, where the trailer was to be screened on a massive scale, faced security concerns.

According to reports by The Indian Express, the management of Rohini Silver Screens had sought permission to hold the event in the open car parking area. Given the expected size of the gathering for the trailer screening, senior city police officials deemed it challenging to provide adequate security for such a vast crowd.

An official statement from the police elaborated that they couldn’t guarantee security for the event’s large turnout. As a result, they suggested that the event be conducted within the theatre complex, where they could deploy the necessary police personnel. The theatre management was also advised to approach the city police commissioner if they still wished to hold the event outdoors.

This setback comes after the Leo audio launch, which was initially planned for September 30 in Chennai, had to be cancelled due to concerns about overcrowding. In response, the theatre owners have decided to host the trailer celebration inside their screens, where bookings for the event are currently open across various venues.

In related news, director Lokesh Kanagaraj recently shared that Leo has obtained a U/A certificate from the Censor Board. The film is expected to have a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 43 minutes, adding to the excitement surrounding its impending release.
