India managed to put in a good bowling display against the mighty Aussies in their World Cup opener at the M.A. Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. The Indian bowling unit managed to dismiss Australia’s batters for a mere 200 runs.
The Australian side managed to get a decent start in tough batting conditions with the likes of David Warner and Steve Smith stitching a decent partnership of 69 runs after which Warner was dismissed by India’s wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

But Virat Kohli and KL Rahul managed to come together and helped gain some momentum as the duo managed to stitch together a decent partnership diverting the pressure back against the Aussies. They were able to do this under tough batting conditions where spinners were able to get some traction from the pitch.

With such a low total on the board, the Aussies could not afford to allow the Indian batters to gain momentum as they needed to get wickets in regular intervals if they were to win the match.
KL Rahul and Virat Kohli managed to get to their half-century giving India a much-needed partnership as they aim to chase down the total and secure their first win in their campaign to win an ICC tournament which has eluded the nation since their last win in 2013 where they won the Champions Trophy.
