'MS Dhoni Will Always do What he Had Committed to do': Kasi Viswanathan Confident About CSK Captain's Participation in IPL 2024
CSK's CEO, KS Vishwanathan commented regarding the participation of MS Dhoni ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League 2024 as the champions look to defend their crown.

The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have their work ahead of them after announcing the list of players that are retained for the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League. One notable name that the fans were eagerly waiting for was that of the legendary skipper, MS Dhoni.

The former Indian captain and World Cup winner had picked up a knee injury during the previous season of the IPL and rumours regarding his retirement had been circulating.

The legend however played through the injury as he led the Chennai Super Kings to their sixth title, making it the most by a single franchise in IPL history.

It was reported that the captain had undergone surgery for the injured knee but it remains uncertain as to how extensive the injury was. But the captain was not ready to call the curtains yet.

CSK’s CEO, Kasi Vishwanathan had spoken regarding the availability of MS Dhoni for the upcoming season. He said, “If our leader gives a word, he has never gone back. So, he has already told what he is planning to do in that interview (post-match presentation in the final).”

Vishwanathan believes that the skipper will continue to play the side for the 2024 edition. He added,” I’m sure that knowing MS, he will always do what he had committed to do.”

With regards to his injury concerns the CEO maintains his confidence in the legendary captain, “I’m very confident that he’ll come back and do well for the CSK this year. And he’s quite fit and raring to go,” he added.

The CSK franchise has let go of some notable players including the likes of Ben Stokes, Ambati Rayudu (retired) and others. Their purse now has 31.4 crores which the side will look to use to bolster their side during the mini-auctions for the 2024 season which takes place in December 2023.
