Ravindra Jadeja was sent back to the dressing room after a magical throw from Ben Stokes found the Indian all-rounder short of his ground during the first Test of the five-match series against England at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Joe Root bowled a full-toss as Jadeja drove the ball confidently in front of mid-on, where Stokes was stationed. The English captain ran in and on collecting the ball, reverse flicked it onto the stumps at the bowler’s end.
Jadeja, who is known to be lightning-fast in his running in between the wickets, was found short of his ground.

Murali Kartik, on commentary, called it “Sheer brilliance” as Jadeja was declared run out for just 2 runs after facing 20 deliveries.
With that wicket, India were reduced to six wickets with KS Bharat joining Shreyas Iyer at the crease and over 100 runs still to get.
Earlier, Ollie Pope hit 196 as England ended their second innings on 420 all out, leaving India needing 231 to win.
Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah got four wickets and bowled Pope to wrap up the England innings in the first session in Hyderabad after the tourists resumed the day on 316-6.
Debutant spinner Tom Hartley (3/31) cleaned up India’s top three, Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, and after tea got the wicket of Axar Patel. KL Root was trapped lbw by Joe Root.
After the wicket of Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer was also sent back with Jack Leach getting the prized wicket and Joe Root completing the catch.
