The Indian wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant just cannot stop getting all the attention as he once again found the spotlight in social media after his appearance in the popular content creator, Tanmay Bhat’s video. The 26-year-old was seen reacting to a wide range of cricket-related memes but this one took the cake.
The meme on-show was that of his fellow teammate Mohammed Siraj who in his early days released a video verifying what his official ID on social media was. For some reason, this went on to become a viral meme across social media and Pant could not stop laughing at the age-old meme.
Despite Pant grabbing the headlines for his off-field antics, he continues to impress on the field as well. After making his comeback to cricket following his accident, he has gone on to help Team India win the T20 World Cup 2024. After making his ODI comeback, he was recently announced in Team India’s squad for the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, which marked his return to the Test team since December 2022.

Pant has had a decent outing for India B’s opening game against India A in the Duleep Trophy 2024. In the second innings, he scored a quickfire 61 in 47 balls to help his team extend their lead as they went on to win the contest later on to rack up six points in their tally.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Pant’s return to the longest format, where he has taken on the best bowlers of the generation and made them look like fiddles with his unorthodox shots. It is yet to be seen whether he would slot into the starting 11 straight away or would Team India opt to ease him into the format.

The Indian cricket team will begin their home summer as they take on Bangladesh in a two-match series taking place in Chennai and Kanpur respectively. This would be followed by a three-match series against New Zealand at home. The big headline event of the Test summer would be India’s tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where Pant played a historic knock to help them retain the title in Australian soil.
