Watch: Poor Fielding From Bangladesh Allows Pakistan to Steal Four Runs
Bangladesh fielders were too lazy to run after the ball assuming it will touch the boundary but it wasn't the case.

A comical moment involving the Bangladeshi fielders unfolded in the ongoing first Test against Pakistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The error allowed the opposition batters to take four runs while running between the wickets – a rare moment in the longest format.

The event transpired in the 49th over of Pakistan’s first innings on Day 2. At that time, Shaud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan were at the crease and the duo looked settled.

Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana bowled a full-length delivery to Shakeel. The left-handed batter pushed the ball through mid-off and it seemed to be headed to the boundary with no player from the Bangladesh side making an attempt to stop it.

They perhaps assumed that it will indeed been a four. The ball, however, abruptly stopped just before the boundary.

That’s when Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto sprung into action from the mid-on region to retrieve the ball. By the time he sent the ball back to the bowler, Shakeel and Rizwan had already added four runs to the Pakistan total.

Shanto was visibly upset at the laziness.

Several fans have reacted to the video and shared their views in the comment section. One of them felt that the Bangladesh fielders “thought it’ll reach the boundary so they didn’t bother chasing.”

Another user was left stunned by seeing the all-run four and noted, “We rarely see 3s nowadays.”

Another took this chance to make dig at both the teams writing, “This can happen when the world’s two best fielding sides play together.”

Pakistan didn’t have a  good start after being put in to bat first.

The hosts were four down at 114 runs when Shakeel and Rizwan began rebuilding.

The duo racked up a 240-run partnership, putting Pakistan in control.

Shakeel struck 141 while Rizwan remained unbeaten with his career-best score of 171 runs. Pakistan chose to declare after producing 448 runs.
