Thousands of students from all over the country take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) examination, hoping to get admission to reputed universities in the country. The CUET examination is designed such that it assesses the aptitude and other relevant learning skills of the candidates. The candidates should be knowledgeable in the marking pattern, and the type of questions that are asked in the examination. So, let us take a look at the exam pattern, and marking scheme of the test.
According to the reports, the examination is conducted online by the National Testing Agency. It can be taken in 13 languages — Assamese, Hindi, English, Gujarati, Odia, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Marathi, Urdu, Tamil and Telugu.
The CUET undergraduate paper is divided into three parts. The first part is the Language Test, the second is the Subject test, and the third is general aptitude. The questions asked in the test are equivalent to the 12th grade and will be given as MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions).
Section 1A- This section consists of 13 languages. It has a total of 50 questions. The candidates will get 45 minutes for this.
Section 1B- This part has 20 languages, and has 50 questions as well. At least 40 are to be attempted in under 45 minutes.
Section 2- It has 27 subjects and 50 questions. Candidates have to attempt 40 questions in 45 minutes.
Section 3- It is a general test, which consists of 60 questions. Of the 60, 50 are to be attempted in an hour, or 60 minutes.
Now let us take a look at the marking scheme.
For every correct answer, the candidate will get 5 marks.
For an incorrect answer, one mark is deducted, while for an unanswered question 0 will be given.
