IIM Ahmedabad Registers 100% Placement For MBA Class Of 2024
The placement drive was conducted on February 12, in two stages, a lateral stage and a final.

The placement drive at the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad recently concluded and saw a 100% success rate in securing placements for MBA management students. The drive, held on February 12, unfolded in two stages. In the initial phase, known as the lateral process, firms interviewed students with prior industry experience, offering them mid-level managerial roles. Approximately 28 firms spanning diverse sectors such as technology, analytics, finance and banking participated in this stage.

Subsequently, in the final stage, firms were categorised into cohorts based on their core business, with each cohort being invited to the institute in separate clusters. Unlike previous years, where students had the flexibility to opt for their preferred firms, termed ‘dream applications,’ even if they held other offers, this year witnessed a significant surge in such applications. A total of 163 dream applications were filed, marking a 54% increase compared to the batch of 2023.

Speaking to the media, Prof Ankur Sinha, Chairperson of the placement committee, highlighted the robust engagement of recruiters despite the challenging job market conditions. He noted an uptick in company participation, offering a diverse array of job opportunities.

Recruiters from the consulting domain included renowned firms like Arthur D. Little, Boston Consulting Group, Kearney, KPMG, McKinsey & Company, Monitor Deloitte, Oliver Wyman, Praxis Global Alliance, PwC and Strategy, Middle East, among others. Similarly, recruiters from the investment banking, markets, private equity, venture capital and asset management sectors featured notable names such as ARGA Investment, Barclays, Elevation Capital, Arpwood Capital, Avendus Capital, Goldman Sachs, HSBC and Premji Investment.

In addition, recruiters representing consumer goods, services, technology and electronics included prominent brands like L’Oreal, Bluestone, Nestle, United Breweries and Wipro Consumer Care, among others.

The placement drive’s success underscores IIM Ahmedabad’s continued commitment to fostering strong industry connections and providing students with diverse and rewarding career opportunities across sectors. With a thriving recruitment landscape and an increase in dream applications, students have ample opportunities to pursue their career aspirations in line with their interests and skill sets.
