The first-ever Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programme has been launched by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) in collaboration with its international campus in Abu Dhabi, for the academic year 2024-2025. Two bachelor’s degree programmes including BTech in Energy Engineering and a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering will be available in the International Institute.
The BTech in Energy Engineering focuses on sustainability, offering a variety of engineering verticals to accommodate a range of interests and aims to solve contemporary issues in energy production and management. The BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, which focuses on AI and machine learning, blends theory and practical abilities to give students expertise in abstraction, computational thinking, and problem-solving methodologies.
In 2023, IIT Delhi, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) collaborated to emphasise the importance of the recently launched master’s programme and to highlight the shared commitment of all partners in developing qualified talent in the United Arab Emirates.
There will be thirty seats provided for each programme, for a total of sixty seats. The Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET) 2024 and the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) 2024 would be the two methods used for admissions to the academic programmes. The two programmes will start concurrently in September 2024, and registration for the academic year 2024–2025 is open until June 3, 2024.
