The season two of The Great Indian Kapil Show has officially gone on floors. And News18 Showsha has exclusively learnt one of the first guests on the show will be Alia Bhatt. The Netflix original wrapped its first season earlier this year. The show, hosted by Kapil Sharma, has taken only a few months break before it resumed the second season shoot. We hear that Kapil is hosting Alia and the cast of Jigra.
The actress was spotted in Mumbai’s Film City for the shoot earlier this evening. “As we know it, The Great Indian Kapil Show is returning with the second season and one of the episodes will feature the cast of Jigra. Alia as well as the cast of Jigra is shooting for an episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show today, Friday. It is going to be a fun episode,” a source told us exclusively. The premiere date of the episode and the season remain unclear. However, we are curious to see what Alia, Vedang Raina, and Kapil have in store for us.
Coincidentally, the first season was kicked off with Ranbir Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. Ranbir, who was fresh off the success of his film Animal, appeared on the show with Neetu and his sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. In the episode, Ranbir got candid about growing up with Riddhima, his mother, and his late father, Rishi Kapoor, and embracing fatherhood. Ranbir and Alia welcomed their daughter in November 2022.
Meanwhile, Jigra is slated to release on the eve of Dusshera, October 11. The film stars Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in the lead. Alia has been sharing new posters to tease the film. She has also confirmed that she is playing Vedang’s sister in the film. In the recently released poster, Alia also announced that the teaser will drop on September 8. Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is co-produced by Dharma Productions, Eternal Sunshine Productions and Viacom18 Studios.
As for The Great Indian Kapil Show, Kapil Sharma announced the return of the show last month. Taking to Instagram, the comedian-host wrote, “The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 is on the way.” The host will be joined by Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, and Rajiv Thakur.
