Do men like women with tattoos?
Many men say they prefer women without tattoos. While it’s ultimately a personal preference, of the men we polled, many said they’re not a fan of tattoos on women. However, this isn’t true of all men, as others said they like tattoos on women, and some said it depends on how the tattoos look. Some say men prefer women without tattoos because it makes the women seem more innocent and virtuous. However, this is just a stereotype, as all women have unique personalities that are unrelated to whether or not they have tattoos.
What do men think of women with tattoos?
Men may think women with tattoos are more sexually promiscuous. According to a study conducted by Swami and Furnham in 2007, tattooed women were rated as less physically attractive but more sexually promiscuous. The experiment showed that men believed women with tattoos were more likely to have sex on a first date than women with no tattoos. This could be because tattoos have historically been associated with rebelliousness and impulsiveness. Keep in mind that this is just a stereotype. Every person with tattoos is unique, and having tattoos isn’t related to how someone expresses their sexuality.
Some men think tattoos exude creativity and confidence. Men who like women with tattoos often associate tattoos with positive traits, like creativity, individuality, and boldness. They may think women with tattoos have a strong sense of identity and aren’t afraid to be themselves.
Should I get a tattoo as a woman?
Get a tattoo if you want a tattoo. Because tattoos are permanent, it’s important to make sure you really want one before you get it. If you do, go for it! Don’t worry about stereotypes or whether or not men find it attractive. If you like it and it makes you feel confident, that’s all that matters. Plus, the right man will love you for you—tattoos and all! If you’re getting your first tattoo, tattoo artist and co-owner of Daredevil Tattoo, Michelle Myles, says to think about how visible you want it to be. “Girls sometimes go for the ankle or shoulder, but I would say get it where you really want it.” Myles also adds that it’s important to do your research and look at a tattoo artist’s style before deciding who you want to do your tattoo.
