Most Fire TV Remotes
Unplug your Fire TV. Disconnect the power supply and HDMI cable to make sure it's fully off, and then wait at least 60 seconds. You may need to reset your Fire Stick remote if it's no longer pairing, frozen, or if you have a replacement remote.
Press and hold the Left, Menu, and Back button at the same time for 12 seconds. Left is the left quarter of the circular navigation button, Menu looks like three horizontal lines, and Back looks like a left-facing arrow.
Release the buttons. Wait at least 5 seconds before continuing to the next step.
Take out the batteries. Open the panel on the back of the remote and carefully remove the batteries.
Plug your Fire TV in again. It'll take a moment to turn back on. When it does, it'll say that the remote can't be detected.
Put the batteries in the remote. This will turn the remote back on again.
Press the Home button. This will sync your remote back to the Fire TV. The LED on the remote should blink blue. If the remote doesn't pair, press and hold the Home button for at least 10 seconds.
Basic Edition Remote
While holding down the Home button, press the Menu button three times. The Home button looks like a house icon, while the Menu button has three horizontal lines.
Let go of the Home button. This is the button with the house on it.
Press the Menu button 9 times. This has three horizontal lines.
Take out the batteries. Open the panel on the back of the remote and carefully remove the batteries.

Put the batteries in the remote. This will turn the remote back on again.
Plug your Fire TV in again. It'll take a moment to turn back on. You should see the Home screen.
Press and hold the Home button for 40 seconds. This will start the setup. The setup should complete after 60 seconds.
