Telugu TV Premiere Of Prabhas-starrer Adipurush Gets Good TRP After Box Office Failure
According to Track Tollywood, the television premiere of Adipurush on Star Maa got 9.47 TRP in Urban areas and 8.41 TRP in U+R markets.

Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush tanked at the box office after it was released in theatres on June 16. Despite registering the biggest opening for an Indian film this year, the mythological drama failed to bring footfall to the theatres. The Om Raut directorial was a flop due to its pedestrian dialogues, poor VFX and not reaching to expectation bar they set. Despite, the reviews and underwhelming response on the big screen and OTT, Adipurush had its premiere on TV recently.

The film surprisingly gained a good response on the small screen and registered a good TRP for its Telugu Version. According to Track Tollywood, the world television premiere of Adipurush on Star Maa got 9.47 TRP in Urban areas and 8.41 TRP in U+R markets.

The film had its television premiere on Star Maa on October 29 at 5:30 pm. Despite the India-England World Cup match, Adipurush registered a good TRP and seems like the audience turned in to watch the mythological film despite options being available.

Recently, Adipurush dialogue writer and lyricist Manoj Muntashir Shukla reacted to the criticism he had received after the release of the film. It had garnered a major backlash for its “distorted” depiction of Ramayana, particularly the dialogues of Hanuman’s character, which many dubbed as “overly colloquial”.

In a chat with Aaj Tak, Manoj admitted that he went 100 per cent wrong during the film and is an insecure person. He added that he was so insecure that he would defend his writing skills by saying that he had written well. “It’s a 100 per cent mistake. But, there was no bad intention behind that mistake. I had no intention of hurting the religion and causing trouble to Sanatan or to defame Lord Ram or to say something about Hanuman ji which is not there,” he added.

Adipurush features Prabhas in the role of Raghav (Lord Ram), Kriti Sanon plays the role of Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Ravan. The film earned a staggering Rs 140 crore worldwide on its opening day. However, it fell flat in just seven days. It is available on Amazon Prime Video.
