BANGALORE: All the 1,420 projects approved both by the state high-level clearance committee as well as single window agency during the last three years are yet to be implemented, Major and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani said.
"Of the 1,420 projects, 339 were approved by the SHLC and the remaining 1081 projects were cleared by the single window agency," Nirani said in a written reply to the question posed by Shankaralinge Gowda (BJP) in the Assembly here on Monday.According to Nirani, the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) has identified 1,21,304 acres for acquisition under the land bank scheme for which preliminary notification has been issued for an extent of 57,016 acres.

"Final notification has been issued to an extent of 28,917 acres," the industries minister sought to

explain.

Of the 339 projects, the highest number are in the field of iron and steel (66), followed by energy (54), infrastructure (26) and sugar and tourism (23 each).
