HYDERABAD: Five persons died in four road accidents in the city and its outskirts. Sirisha (26) of Vijayapuri Colony died and her husband Srinivas was injured in a road accident at Uppal on Sunday. The mishap took place while the couple were returning home after taking part in Ayyappa Swamy Pooja. A lorry hit their vehicle from behind near the Mahatma Gandhi statue on UppalGhatkesar road.
In another accident, two persons were fatally run over by a van at LB Nagar. Laxman (40) of Chintalkunta, and Mohan (60) of BHEL, were going on a bike from Sagar road to LB Nagar when the van hit them. In a separate incident, an employee of a jewellery showroom was fatally knocked down by a speeding car at Greenlands on Saturday night. According to the Punjagutta police, Mohammed Niya Ghani and Surya (25) of Kundanbagh were returning home on a twowheeler when a Honda City rammed their vehicle. Surya who was severely injured succumbed this morning.
