53 more liquor shops to come up

HYDERABAD: The state government has decided to allot 53 more new wine shops in the state capital, 40 in the twin cities and 13 on the outskirts.Mini ster for exci se M.Venkata Ramana, while announcing the release of Rs 11.80 crore to the families of toddy-tappers who died or became physically disabled, told mediapersons here on Monday that the government would provide an ex gratia of `2 lakh to the bereaved families whose bread-winner died accidentally while tapping toddy and `50,000 to those who became disabled.While 69 accidents occurred, 61 persons died and eight were injured.
