PUDUCHERRY: Six IAS officers serving in the UT administration have been transferred by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), while four new officers have been posted here, in an order communicated to the administration here on Tuesday. As per the orders issued by the MHA, Uddipta Ray, Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor has been transferred to National Capital Territory Delhi, while P Mathew Sammuel, Secretary, Industries,  has been transferred to Goa and G Thevaneethi Dhas , Secretary, Welfare, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, to Andaman and Nicober Islands.Bellatee Pertin, Chief Electoral Officer, G Ragesh Chandra, Secretary, Civil Supplies, and B R Babu, Secretary, Tourism, have been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh. On the other hand, Vivek Pandey, P R Meena, D K Mishra from NCT Delhi  and WV R Murthi from Goa have been posted to Puducherry.Mathew Sammuel, G Ragesh Chandra, G  Thevaneethi Dhas and B R Babu, all state civil serve officers, had been inducted into the IAS on November 24, 2011 and since then have been serving in the UT administration.  Uddipta Ray had recently opted for VRS to take up the post of State Election Commissioner. He is awaiting the approval of the MHA.It is felt that the transfer of the IAS officers at this time will not augur well for the Union Territory as the budget for the current financial year is to be taken up after the plan size is finalised by the Planning Commission.  The new officers will not get the requisite time to get fully familiarised with the subjects they are allocated before participating in the budget preparation exercise, it is said.
