Accoring to Rewa SP Singh, Ahmad was a heart patient and complained of chest pain in the custody after which he was rushed to a hospital, where he died of a heart attack.
Bhopal: Six policemen have been booked for custodial death of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader Atiq Ahmad in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district.
The Rewa police station in-charge has been suspended and a magisterial probe has been ordered in the case. Ahmad who was arrested by police for clashing with locals was allegedly beaten in the police custody.
