New Delhi: For the parents of Aarushi Talwar, the CBI's closure report came as a shock. They never thought that the premier investigating agency would end the case so abruptly after putting them through so many scientific tests.
The CBI closed the Aarushi Talwar double murder case, more than two-and-a-half years after the teenager was brutally murdered in Noida.
Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar said, "We are consulting our legal options and we will be meeting our lawyers too."
On Thursday, their lawyers told news channels that they would soon be filing a protest petition in the Ghaziabad court to find out how the CBI came to this conclusion and also why they did not go in for a touch DNA test, a scientific test which is carried out in certain laboratories abroad.
Rebecca John, Talwars' lawyer told, "We had written to them requesting for the DNA test and even offered to pay for these. But we have no clue if the tests actually happened or not."
The Talwars continue to be open to further questioning by the CBI but came down heavily on the UP police and sections of the media for misreporting facts
From the very beginning it was alleged that the UP police botched up the case and did not handle the material evidence very well. This is probably why they are also planning to file a petition in the Supreme Court requesting it to frame guidelines for police forces which would cover all aspects of investigations including the preservation of the crime scene.
