BANGALORE: The four advocates who were arrested in connection with rioting at city civil court have been granted conditional interim bail by the Sixth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Monday. Later in the evening, they were released from the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. The advocates, A P Ranganth, Arun Naik, Santosh and Raghavendra, were arrested on Saturday over charges of rioting and attacking journalists and policemen.The accused had filed a bail petition on Saturday which was adjourned till Monday.On Monday, counsel for the accused contended that bail be granted to them since the complaint mentions only of “a group of lawyers” rioting, and that no names were mentioned in the accused column. “There is no allegation on any individual,” he added.Magistrate K M Churi Khan granted bail under condition that the accused do not try to destroy any evidence, cooperate with investigation and attend all hearings without fail. Further hearing was posted to March 16.The bail order was later submitted at the central prison and the four were released.
