The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested retired Major General AR Kumar in Hyderabad in the Adarsh Housing Society scam.
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested retired Major General AR Kumar in Hyderabad in the Adarsh Housing Society scam.
AR Kumar will be produced at a CBI court in Hyderabad. A transit warrant will be obtained and will be produced in the court on Thursday in Mumbai for requesting CBI custody.
Earlier on Tuesday, the CBI arrested four persons in the scam. Those arrested were retired defence estates officer RC Thakur, Brigadier (retired) MM Wanchoo, former deputy secretary of the urban development department PV Deshmukh and former MLC Kanhaiyalal Gidwani. Gidwani is already in judicial custody in another case. "I am cooperating with the CBI. I have nothing to do with anyone," Gidwani said.
