New Delhi: Revealing its CES 2015 plans, Alcatel announced its entry into the smartwatch segment with the Alcatel OneTouch Watch, which the company says will be the first in its Watch series of smartwatches.
Alcatel is positioning its wearable as "the affordable smartwatch" that will be available at "a fraction of the cost of competitors," but hasn't yet divulged any information about the price or specifications. "A smartwatch that puts a premium on elegant design at a very accessible price," Alcatel says in a press release.
The Android Wear OneTouch Watch will come with sensors and apps to monitor daily activity and would also be able to control music, take photos and receive notifications.
The OneTouch Watch features a Moto 360 like round design and will be available with different strap options.
Further details about Alcatel OneTouch Watch is expected at CES 2015 (The International Consumer Electronics Show) that begins in Las Vegas on January 9.
