Mumbai: Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who has experimented with genres like comedy and action drama, says his next project will be focussed on the relations between Hindus and Muslims.
His new movie 'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero' is ready to hit the theatres on September 20, and soon after its release, Santoshi will be tied up with another project.
"After this ('Phata...'), I am making a film on India-Pakistan 1947 partition. It's a very hard-hitting emotional subject on Hindu-Muslim relationship. Anil Kapoor will lead the film," Santoshi said here in a group interview.
He has directed two back-to-back comedy films 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' and 'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero'. Asked if he is enjoying comedy over other genres he said: "I made 'Khakee', then I made 'Ajab...'. After that, I was actually planning for a hard-hitting action film with Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan), Anil ... but due to some problem, the film was put on hold."
