AP: Attacks on girls to be made non-bailable

HYDERABAD: Section 509 of the IPC would be amended to make incidents of stalkers' attacks on girls a nonbailable offence, home minister P Sabita Reddy has said.Chairing a high-level meeting with senior police officials at her chambers here on Saturday, she said so far persons involved in such attacks were booked under bailable offence.According to the home minister, a Bill would be introduced in the winter session of the Assembly beginning Dec 1 proposing necessary amendments to the Section.Besides, it has also been was also decided to have a special court in Hyderabad for speedy disposal of cases relating to dowry harassment and women trafficking. Dowry cases which come under Section 498(A) are more in Cyberabad and Hyderabad. There is only one court in Hyderabad to deal with these kind of cases and it has been proposed to have another court for these cases.
