This Viral Meme Will Tickle Your Funny Bone

While there is a dedicated cult following for many TV soaps, they often face backlash as well. They are often trolled for using extremely common and similar storylines, and many other reasons as well. Some of the common scenes that have been aired by multiple serials and have become an object for fun are a pregnant woman falling down the stairs, a lamp before a deity getting extinguished citing an ill omen and last minute interruptions in a marriage ceremony. Social media is full of memes that make fun of these common serial tropes. Recently, a meme that trolls three Marathi serials is going viral on the internet. All these three serials air on the Star Pravah channel. The three serials are Kunya Rajachi Ga Tu Rani, Lakshmichya Pavalani and Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta. Viewers have noticed a similar scene in all three of the serials. An Instagram handle has made a video, documenting all the three scenes in three separate windows.

All the three scenes depict vermillion being accidentally applied to a woman’s head. In two of the scenes, the man trips and accidentally flings a tray full of vermillion into the air which lands on the women’s heads; while in the third clip, the man is seen holding a paper full of vermillion and a gust of wind causes the vermillion to fly off and splatter on the woman’s forehead.

In Indian culture, a man applying vermillion on a woman’s head considers them married and all the scenes use that for dramatic effect. In the background of this video, the dialogue Saudamini Abhi Kunku Lava from Ashok Saraf’s movie Maja Pati Crorepati can be heard. Hilarious comments like, ‘The vermillion should have fallen on the ground and the plate should have fallen on the head,’ are seen on the video.
