August 15: Tight security at Bangalore airport

BANGALORE: Security has been beefed up in many places including the Bangalore International Airport (BIA) in view of the 65th Independence Day celebrations.“In view of the Independence Day, enhanced security checks have been put in place by the police and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) authorities,” a statement from BIA said.Stating that these measures would be time consuming, the BIA officials have sought the cooperation of the passengers as there would be delays and requested them to report early for flights. The security checks woud continue up to the August 20.
