HYDERABAD: A 24-year-old auto driver, who was arrested in a teasing case, attempted suicide by jumping from the second floor of the Musheerabad police station here on Sunday. According to the police, Mohammed Javeed belonged to  Mohannagar in Ramnagar. Around 4 pm on Sunday, a housewife, Sabiqa Begum called up the police control room stating that her neighbours, Javeed and his brother Yousuf were creating nuisance at her house in an  inebriated condition. Alerted by the control room, Musheerabad police rushed to the spot and picked up both the brothers from the spot at 4.15 pm. As  the accused were in an inebriated condition, the police kept them in the lock up on the first floor. P Venkata Ramana, inspector, Musheerabad said that few minutes after being put in the lock up, Javeed vomited  and as soon as the constables brought him out to clean the place,  he  climbed the stairs leading to the terrace and jumped.The police immediately rushed  him to the Gandhi General Hospital  Javeed suffered a hairline fracture and is out of danger. The  police booked cases under section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) IPC against Javeed, apart from the  teasting case.
