BANGALORE: Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath said the Centre had approved 46 projects for Mysore and Bangalore under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) at an approximate cost of Rs 3,781 crore.At the inauguration of Namma Metro on Thursday, he said the Centre’s share in this would be Rs 1,452 crore and it had already released `842 crore in the last few months and Rs 206 crore recently.He also added that Tier II and III cities would benefit from the Centre’s plans as they would provide Rs 414 crore and an additional Rs 551 crore for 38 projects in 30 small cities. “Rs 470 crore was released in the last six months,” he added.Acknowledging the space constraints in the city, he said they were looking for developing satellite towns and Kanakapura town would benefit from it.Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda thanked the Japanese government for Rs 2,850 crore loan through the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA).“I also thank the Asian Development Bank for sanctioning a loan of $250 million. Likewise, Korea Exim Bank has also sanctioned a loan of 133 million Euro. State Bank of India has sanctioned Rs 850 crore and HUDCO has also come forward to extend a loan of Rs 700 crore for the metro project,” he said.
