Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services have been roped in by the Indian Cricket Board to suitably recommend ways to professionalise its functioning.
"TCS have been awarded the job," informed the Board's Executive Secretary-in-charge Ratnakar Shetty on Friday.
The Board, headed by Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, had taken the decision to bring in more professionalism in its running soon after the elections in Kolkata.
The Board's all-powerful Working Committee, that met in Mumbai recently, took the decision to appoint an external agency to suggest ways and means to go about achieving the goal.
Pawar had been authorised to appoint the external agency by the BCCI Working Committee.
In a realted development the board has decided to keep its headquarters in Mumbai but within the premises of the Wankhede Stadium instead of in the North Stand of the Brabourne Stadium.
"The Headquarters Committee, headed by I S Bindra, has decided that the BCCI headquarters would be housed inside the Wankhede Stadium in the new building which is under construction," Shetty added.
He said that the total area of the headquarters would be around 10,000 square feet.
