Betel vines demolished at Govindpur

PARADIP: Betel vines of four persons at the trouble-torn Govindpur, considered the epicenter of the people’s movement against the proposed Posco steel project, were demolished on Wednesday. One of the four members, Sudhir Dalai alleged that the Posco Pratirodha Sangram Samiti members (PPSS) have been misguiding them. Dalai received Rs 2.90 lakh as compensation.  Special Land Acquisition Officer Nrusingh Swain said 51 betel vines have been demolished in Nuagaon, Bhuiyanpal, Bayanalkanda and Polang panchayats.
