BJP sees plot to protect Italian marines

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president V Muralidharan on Wednesday criticised the State Government’s alleged conspiracy to protect the Italian marines responsible for the killing of two fishermen.  Referring to Cardinal Mar George Alencherry’s statement that he had asked the state Ministers belonging to the Catholic community to intervene in the issue and entrusted Union Minister K V Thomas to do the needful, the BJP leader, in a statement here, said that it was part of this conspiracy.  Muralidharan said that it was a challenge to the country’s supremacy and self respect. He asked the State Government to make clear its stand on the issue.
