Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav addressed a rally in Muzaffarnagar on Monday in a bid to garner support from the people residing in the riot-hit district of Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh government had faced flak from all quarters for alleged mismanagement, inefficiency and apathy towards the Muzaffarnagar riot victims living the government relief camps.
Ahead of Lok Sabha elections Akhilesh attacked both Congress and BJP. Congress was given the opportunity to form the government so many times, but what did it do for the welfare of the nation? asked Akhilesh while addressing the people.
Slamming BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Akhilesh said that those propagating the 'Gujarat model' are just deceiving the people. If they have given us lions, we have also given them hyenas, Akhilesh added.
BJP is only indulging in false propaganda, they have spent Rs 1000 crore in their campaign, Akhilesh further said.
Boasting about the welfare done by SP governemnt Akhilesh said that his government has started new ambulances for pregnant women and these services are free.
Trying to garner support from people of Muzaffarnagar Akhilesh said that his government is always with the victims of riots. We were blamed for providing aid to the riot victims, even SC has said that UP government has not discriminated, Akhilesh said.
BJP targets Samajwadi Party because we are secular, said Akhilesh.Talking about the Saifi event Akhilesh said that when our government invited Bollywood stars, people criticised us. And now all actors are joining politics.
Although Samajwadi Party is attacked for being secular, still we will always remain secular and socialist, Akhilesh concluded.
