A folk tale that is written and rewritten in the Kannada literary segment 'Bagirathi' is now in the film form from the intelligent thought of Professor Baraguru Ramachandrappa. The film was screened at the last year Goa International Film festival in the premiere section. The producer of this film BK Srinivas won the prestigious Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Award at the National Unity and Industrial Growth in New Delhi.
BK Srinivas wants 'Bagirathi' to release on June 8 and he has announced this at his 21st year marriage celebration event. BK Srinivas also showed the awards he has won recently to the media with Kishore, Dr Baraguru Ramahcnadrappa, Dr Srinath, editor Suresh Urs, cameraman Harish Sandekoppa. “I am looking at this folk tale art film on the lines of commercial cinema and erecting 6000 posters of ‘Bagirathi’ for publicity.” He informed.
Actor Kishore was in a busy schedule to reach Chennai for 'Haridasa' film and also came for the media meet at 37 Crescent Hotel on thursday afternoon and stated that he has acted in good cinema 'Bagirathi'. I was taught well by permanent Pranayaraja of Kannada cinema Dr Srinath said Kishore.
Dr Srinath appreciated the concentration of the actor Kishore in delivering his portions. National repute Editor of over 500 films to his credit Suresh Urs lauded the work of Dr Srinath, Thara and Hema Chaudhary especially. This kind of film should be supported stated Urs.
Prof. Baraguru Ramachandrappa said the parallel thought he created for three of his earlier movies of taking film to the people has got some relief with a producer like BK Srinivas. I would find out where the film not reached and take up the film 'Bagirathi' to 'Samudayadatta Cinema' that was very successful in the past. 'Bagirathi' is Janapada in style is also Janapara (people oriented) and I hope to that the film would become 'Janapriya' (Popularity) wished Prof. Baraguru.
