BANGALORE: Two students were killed on the spot, after a BMTC bus hit the twowheeler they were riding near National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in Koramangala on Friday.The deceased Gourav (16) and Ashwin (16), both first PU students, were students of Bhagavan Mahaveer Jain College (9th Block).According to the police, the duo, after finishing classes were on their way back home when the incident occurred.Gourav was riding a Honda Dio, on which Ashwin was riding pillion.When they were going near NDDB, Gourav noticed that a BMTC Big-10 bus was speeding behind him and to make way for the bus, he tried to move to the left side of the road.But, the speeding bus hit their bike from behind and the duo fell on the road.The moving bus ran over the friends crushing the duo to death on the spot.Fearing public wrath, the bus driver abandoned the bus and fled.Enraged by the accident, people pelted stones at the bus and damaged it.The bus, which belonged to Shantinagar’s BMTC second depot, was plying between Majestic and Sarjapur, the police added.
