CBI on Thursday interrogated MLA Kirori Lal Meena in connection with the 2011 murder case of SHO Phool Mohammad, who was burnt alive by a mob in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district.
A CBI team from Delhi questioned Meena, state unit head of National People's Party (NPP), at his official residence near SMS hospital for about three hours in connection with the murder case of Mohammad, a CBI spokesperson said.
After the interrogation, Meena told reporters that he has been falsely implicated in the case as he was not there at the time of violence in which then Soorwal Police Station SHO Mohammad was killed.
"I was questioned on phone calls details and other links related to the case. I have no involvement in the case," Meena, who was expelled from BJP during the 2009 Lok Sabha polls said.
CBI also tried to find Meena's link with Additional SP Mahendra Singh Tanwar, who had surrendered before a local court hearing the case in March this year, his press adviser Satish said, adding the MLA had denied any link with Tanwar.
Mohammad was allegedly burnt alive in a police jeep by a mob after one Rajesh Meena had jumed to death from an overhead water tank to protest against alleged police action in a murder case in 2011.
Previous Congress government had referred the case to CBI.
