BANGALORE: Raja Rajeswari Medical College celebrated its second graduation day and seventh college day Spectra 2012 with actors Tilak and Nisha Shetty.On this occasion, the graduation day was graced by dignitaries such as A C Shanmugam, chairman of RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital and Huluvadi G Ramesh, Honourable Justice, High Court of Karnataka.Huluvadi G Ramesh distributed awards for students for their academic excellence.Congratulating the students who will pass out as doctors this academic year, Sri A C Shanmugam, said, “Today you are entering a career which is one of the oldest professions in the world. A doctor’s profession involves a lot of hard work but is a satisfying career as it is about curing patients and saving lives at many instances. It is a responsibility rather than a privilege.” Huluvadi G Ramesh, addressing the gathering said, “The government has relaxed norms to encourage students to acquire specialised skills after the under-graduate level.”He added that along with advancement in nuclear science and information technology, India is growing rapidly in the domain of health sciences.V Narayanaswamy, Honourable Union Minister of parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, said, “ After the UN declaring India as a Polio-free nation, the national concern this year is to fight diseases like diabetes, cancer and heart-related problems.” He added, “The government will take steps to help common people fight these diseases at affordable costs.”The students celebrated the graduation day by taking part in the cultural activities which aimed at developing the cultural talents through constructive expression of art.
