A Central government team comprising 11 experts from various departments will tour six drought-hit districts of the state from August 22 to 25.
Gadag, Koppal, Bijapur, Chamarajnagar, Chitradurga and Tumkur will be visited.
The team will be divided into two groups for on-the-spot assessment of the situation and will complete their visit in three days.
They will meet state-level officials in Bangalore on August 25.
The first team will be led by Parvesh Sharma, managing director of SFAC in the Department of Agriculture in New Delhi, while the second team will be headed by Dr K Manoharan, director incharge, Directorate of Tobacco Development, Chennai.
Unlike the last two visits, the Central team this time is using chopper services to cover the districts.
District and Minister of Co-operation B J Puttaswamy said: “The last two visits of the Central team were not helpful.
At least this time we are expecting some funds and will urge the teams to submit a correct report.
