Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu has put off his bus yatra from August 25 through the Vizianagaram district.
The former Chief Minister planned to undertake the tour seeking "justice" to all regions of the state in the wake of Congress's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh. The tour has been christened `Aatmagourava Yatra' as Chandrababu's call is to safeguard the "self-respect" of the Telugu people in the light of the bifurcation decision.
He was supposed to cover nine Assembly constituencies in seven days in Vizianagaram district starting from Kothavalasa. TDP sources said here this evening that fresh dates of the yatra would be announced shortly.
Sources said the yatra was put off in view of the tense situation in the region due to the growing agitation against the bifurcation plan.
