New Delhi: Thousands of people have been affected by floods in Colombia.
Various rivers have burst their banks and flooded many towns following incessant rains there. Entire plantations have been destroyed.
Roads connecting La Guajira to the rest of the country have been washed away, making it difficult for aid workers to reach the area.
Flooding after a month of heavy rainfall left 26 people dead and caused more than120,000 people to suffer, Colombian authorities and the Red Cross had said in a statement last week.
Twenty-nine of the country's 32 provinces suffered from the flood to different extent, with more than 400,000 hectares of farmland submerged, bridges damaged and roads closed because roads have collapsed or have been blocked by landslides.
