New Delhi: Alleged 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed has said that he condemns the attacks and is willing to answer questions by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that will soon be visiting Pakistan in connection with the ongoing trial in the case. This is the first time that the Jamaat-ud-Dawat (JuD) chief has condemned the terrorist attacks in which nearly 164 people died and several others were injured.
Speaking exclusively to CNN, Saeed said that the people "who are carrying out violent attacks are all involved in militant activities" and were giving the mujahideen and 'jihad' a bad name.
"These people who are carrying out violent attacks are all involved in militant activities while trying to clear their pasts... and are giving the mujahedeen and jihad a bad name. I condemn this attack (26/11 Mumbai attacks) and innocent lives that have been lost no matter which country they are from... I don't support this attack or any violence of this kind," he said.
He added, "If they (the NIA) want to talk to me, I have no objection. I am ready to answer their questions. I have always put myself forward, I will never back off from this."
