Drugs like LSD, charas, ecstasy pills and marijuana were reportedly seized from the party.

Nearly 100 people were detained on suspicion of consuming drugs after the police raided an alleged rave party in Maharashtra’s Thane on the intervening nights of December 30 and 31, ahead of the New Year celebrations.

As per the police, the two individuals who organised the party are among those detained. Drugs like LSD, charas, ecstasy pills and marijuana were reportedly seized from the party.

Following the raids, medical examinations of the detained individuals were carried out to confirm the allegations of drug consumption, reported India Today.

Notably, it has been learnt that the invitation for the event was sent to hundreds of youngsters on Instagram.

Notably, rave parties in India came under a lot of scrutiny last month when a popular YouTuber and the winner of the Bigg Boss OTT 2 reality show, Elvish Yadav, was booked by the Noida police along with his five associates for hosting rave parties and supplying banned snake venom to the attendees.

The police action came after 20 ml of snake venom was recovered from their possession. According to the FIR registered by the Noida Police, 5 cobras, 1 python, 1 two-headed snake and one rat snake were recovered from the possession of Yadav and his associates.

However, Elvish Yadav denied all the charges and said that all allegations against him were baseless and fake. “I will take the responsibility if even 1 per cent of my involvement in this is proved,” the YouTuber said in his statement.

What Is A ‘Rave Party’?

A rave party is typically an electronic music dance party that usually lasts all night with performances from DJs or live music performers. Rave parties are often conducted in dark rooms filled with laser lights and strobes. However, they are mostly under the radar of law enforcement agencies because of the presence of a lot of drugs, including Ecstacy in such parties.
